Here at Tactical Sport Defense processing your firearm transfer will be as efficient and "enjoyable" as possible! Please make sure you are eligible to purchase and own a firearm before continuing by visiting the CA DOJ Website (see our links page). View your three options below in order to determine how to proceed.

The process to purchase and transfer your firearms is as follows:

TO HAVE US PURCHASE THE FIREARM FOR YOU FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

1. Call Rob @ 916.870.4567 or email your information to Rob@TacticalSportDefense.com. This should include Manufacturer's Name, Model Number, Caliber, Barrel Length, Color, Type of Sites, etc. Details are important. If you located your firearm on an online catalog store or website, please include the link to the web site.

2. We will purchase the firearm for you after you have accepted an agreed upon price and a deposit or the full amount of the purchase price of the firearm is received. We accept a variety of payment options: Cash, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. Personal checks are not accepted.

3. To start the personal background check and 10 day wait period we will schedule a face to face appointment. It takes just a few minutes to complete the California Department of Justice Dealer Record of Sale (DROS) and the Federal Form ATF 4473. A $35.00 transfer and DROS fee is due at this time and is non- refundable. Please make sure you are eligible to pass the background check.

4. The California Department of Justice will notify Tactical Sport and Defense if you are approved or denied to obtain and possess a firearm or if additional information is required to acquire your firearm. Upon approval and completion of the 10 day wait period we will schedule a delivery or pick up time for your firearm. At this time payment in full is due before the transfer can be completed.

TO HAVE US TRANSFER A FIREARM THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED FROM ANOTHER DEALER OR AUCTION BY HAVING IT SENT TO US FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

Email or call in the Dealer's Name, email, web site link, phone, fax and transaction numbers, so we can quickly move the process along for you.





Follow the above steps #3 and #4 as they are required for this type of transaction.





The fee for this service is $35.00 and with the DROS is $60.00

TO HAVE US PROCESS A PRIVATE PARTY TRANSFER FOLLOW THESE STEPS:





Bring your firearm you wish to sell to a private individual to us. The Buyer and Seller need to be present to begin the background check and wait period as in step #3 above. The buyer will receive the firearm after step #4 above. The fee for this service is $35.00

IF YOU ARE PURCHASING A HANDGUN IT IS REQUIRED TO HAVE A HANDGUN SAFETY CERTIFICATE. If you do not have a handgun safety certificate we are licensed to provide this service. The test manual for study is available prior to testing. This can be done at the same time as step #3 above. The fee and certificate for this service is $25.00.

You must be 18 years or older to purchase a long gun and 21 years or older to purchase a hand gun or lower receiver. You must also have a valid Driver License or I.D. Card with picture and proof of residency (this can be a recent water bill or electric bill). NO EXCEPTIONS.
